  • Chris Botti
"I visited Miss Z and her students while on tour in Boston. I premiered pieces from my new album at an assembly for students from grades 3-12. During that assembly, I had the honor of playing with one of her Beginner Band classes. I spoke to the students on the importance of practice and hard work. While at the school, I was struck at the sheer joy of learning and performing in all of the children, instilled by Miss Z. It was one of my most memorable school visits, topped off with joining the Beginner Band to play the undeniable classic - Hot Cross Buns. Miss Z is a passionate educator who regards children and their musical experience as her top priority."
Chris Botti, Grammy Award winning Jazz Trumpeter and Composer
  • Richard Fortus
"I have been acquainted with Miss Z for over 15 years and worked with her students while she was teaching in Boston, New Hampshire and Greenwich, CT. While teaching in Boston, she arranged for her high school students to visit me while on tour to learn about portable recording equipment and life on the road. In New Hampshire, she arranged for me to work with a middle school guitar classes via Skype in a master class style setting. Through this venue, I was able to give them practice tips, as well as helpful hints for pieces they were learning. In Greenwich, I again met with a "School of Rock" electives class via Skype to specifically to work on the Guns 'n Roses song, "Sweet Child of Mine" which they were to perform for an assembly. Miss Z goes above and beyond to provide unique and inspirational learning opportunities for her students."
Richard Fortus, guitarist for the "Psychedelic Furs" and "Guns 'n Roses"
